Susan Holiday, EdM

School Improvement Coach, Professional Learning

Susan Holiday has been involved in K–12 education for the past 30 years. Susan never lost sight of what it feels like being a classroom teacher and how supportive school leadership impacts educator and student growth.

For the last 10 years, Susan supervised schools from pre-K–12 in a large urban school district in Maryland. Her most recent experiences included direct supervision and support of 22 elementary schools. Her primary responsibilities included leadership development of principals and assistant principals, school operations, and implementation of the school improvement process (Plan, Do Study Act) in all schools.

In June 2022, Susan retired after serving 30 years in the school district from which she graduated. During her time in the district, she became a certified national principal mentor, through the National Association of Elementary School Principals, and a Gallup-certified strengths coach. She also worked with the Wallace Foundation to examine and provide technical assistance to large urban school districts with their capacity building of the principal supervisor positions.

Susan earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Elizabethtown College and a master’s degree in administration and supervision from Bowie State University.
