An enduring mission

Our mission is simple but vast: Partnering to help all kids learn®. We help kids get what they need in the classroom, so they can pursue their passions, shape their future, and realize their potential.

Our Mission

Why we do what we do

NWEA partnerships help students learn, teachers teach, and leaders lead.

Mission-Driven

Though visually-impaired students represent just 0.11% of the US student population, we invested to make our MAP Growth assessment accessible to them. And we taught others to do the same.

We are proud funders of a nationally-recognized research partnership with the University of Portland that engages with local school systems and extends their capacity for district-driven research. In its first three years, the partnership has completed over 50 projects.

It’s a significant paradigm shift—from approaching student learning as ‘What’s wrong with this child?’ to ‘What can I do to help meet this child’s needs?’ When people believe in their ability to intervene and truly influence learning, they can create very powerful results.
